| The Calcium and Boron Solution
For Canola Crops |
| LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
| Calcium & boron are
essential for the yield & quality of your canola crop.
Unfortunately, these 2 nutrients are also the most immobile
in plants and soils & therefore it is not only important
to have a good product but also to apply it at the appropriate
time. While gypsum & lime (on acid soils only) applications
are beneficial, it is the availability of this calcium
that is the biggest issue. High pH calcareous soils have
excessive amounts of exchangeable calcium, yet crops still
suffer from calcium deficiencies. Boron is an essential
component in calcium nutrition, not only because it plays
a similar role but it also increases calcium mobility
and root uptake, therefore improving the plant availability
of soil calcium. Calcium and boron are required for reproduction
and flowering and low levels of these nutrients at the
commencement of flowering will result in low pollen and
flower viability, therefore reducing yields. Boron is
also one of the many trace elements involved in oil production.
A tip for those on calcareous soils is to use sulphate
of ammonia as a base dressing or pre-drilled into the
soil, as this will acidify the soil (more than urea) and
release calcium that would be otherwise unavailable to
the plant. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-CALCIUM + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of calcium & boron
- inclusion of boron improves calcium uptake
- improves flowering and seed set
- boron increases oil content
- superior binding properties for maximum absorption
- lifts yields & seed quality
- contains 2% sulphur
- compatible with herbicides & insecticides
|
| APPLICATION |
| Apply LIG-CALCIUM +
BORON at early cabbage stage (pre-bolting) @ 2.5 L/ha.
If boron levels are severely deficient include 1 L/ha
LIGNO-BORON. |

| The Foliar Zinc Solution
For Canola Crops |
| LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
| Because canola is a
brassica, its agronomic requirements are different to
traditional cereal and pulse crops. The correct soil pH
(6.5-7.5) and balanced nutrition program are important
for good yields and oil content While zinc deficiency
is most common on alkaline soils, deficiencies are also
common on many of the leached acid sands in Western Australia,
especially if lime is applied, as it reduces zinc availability
in the short to medium term. Zinc is particularly important
in the very early stages of a plant’s life for germination,
root growth, photosynthesis and shoot development. Zinc
also increases oil content and is important during flowering
for grain set, therefore low zinc levels at bolting can
significantly reduce yields. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
|
- high plant availability through leaf
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated zinc ensures no burning
- enhances photosynthesis & early growth of plants
- superior binding properties allows for early application
- improves oil content & yields
- compatible with post emergent chemicals
- cost effective Australian made product

| APPLICATION |
| Canola Crops - 2 L/Ha
between five leaf and cabbage stage. |

| The Trace Element Solution
For Canola |
| LIG-BALANCE |
| Trace elements are
essential for the quality of canola crops because many
are involved in oil production. They include: manganese,
zinc, copper, boron, molybdenum and iron. Boron is also
essential for flowering, and yields will be significantly
reduced if boron is low at bolting stage. Maintaining
adequate levels of all essential nutrients is important
because healthy plants have a greater disease tolerance
and cope much better with adverse growing conditions that
can significantly reduce yield and quality. Hidden trace
element deficiencies (no visual symptoms) can reduce yields
by 50%. Deficiencies can often be induced by: the correction
of one or more deficient nutrients; increases in plant
available nitrogen; rapid shoot growth; and optimum levels
of major (N, P, K) and secondary (S, Mg) nutrients. LIG-BALANCE
is ideal for high yielding crops as it will maintain oil
content and protein levels without compromising yield.
