| The Calcium Solution For
Brassica Crops |
| LIG-CALCIUM + BORON |
| In brassica crops,
the most well known and obvious calcium deficiency symptom
is hollow stem. While hollow stem is usually associated
with high plant nitrogen levels, it is the reduction in
calcium, boron and potassium uptake induced by high nitrogen
levels that leads to cell breakdown. Symptoms of hollow
stem appear first in plant roots and regular examination
can detect the problem early and may prevent significant
reductions in yield and quality. Look for slimy roots
and brown discolouration in the core of dissected roots. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-CALCIUM + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of calcium & boron
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated boron ensures no burning
- inclusion of boron improves calcium uptake & movement
- superior binding properties
- prevents hollow stem & enhances quality
- contains no chloride & low levels of nitrogen
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- Australian made
|
| APPLICATION |
| Brassica Crops - 3-5
sprays @ 5 L/Ha commencing at head formation through to
harvest. For high risk crops increase application rate
to 7.5 L/Ha. |

| The Molybdenum Solution
For Brassica Crops |
| LIG-MOLY |
| Molybdenum deficiency
is usually associated with acidic soils high in iron and
copper, that reduce the plant availability of molybdenum,
while the application of fertilizers containing phosphate
and sulphate also reduce moly uptake. Brassica crops tend
to be more prone to molybdenum deficiency when supplied
nitrate nitrogen as their molybdenum requirements are
higher. Under molybdenum deficiency soluble nitrate compounds
accumulate in plants and are responsible for metabolic
disorders such as ‘whiptail’ in cauliflower and ‘tipburn’
in lettuce. The reduction in nitrogen efficiency means
plant growth is inhibited and the large amount of soluble
nitrates is often detrimental to fruit quality. The formation
of proteins required for chlorophyll size and structure
are significantly reduced when molybdenum is deficient,
this leads to lower levels of photosynthetic activity
and sugar production. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-MOLY |
|
- high plant availability through leaf
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated molybdenum
- increases the utilization efficiency of nitrogen
- superior binding properties allows early application
- prevents whiptail
- enhances plant growth & fruit quality
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- cost effective Australian made productv

| APPLICATION |
| Cucurbits – Apply 2
L/Ha prior to head formation and repeat 2-3 weeks later |

| The Potassium Solution For
Brassica Crops |
| LIG-K + BORON |
| Plants require large
amounts of potassium for growth and in many cases their
potassium requirements are equal to, or above that of
nitrogen. Potassium is responsible for the production
and translocation of sugars required for filling and increased
head weight. Potassium is also important for protein synthesis
and reduces excessive plant nitrogen levels that cause
hollow stem. Potassium also promotes even head development,
especially under stop/start growing conditions. The role
of boron is twofold. Firstly, boron increases the translocation
of sugars to developing heads, and secondly, improves
the uptake and movement of calcium for optimum head quality.
Foliar application of potassium is very efficient and
can be used strategically throughout the growing season
and is particularly beneficial closer to harvest when
the potassium requirements are highest and soil applications
of potassium are of little benefit |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-K + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of potassium through leaf
- rapid leaf uptake & translocation to developing heads
- chelated boron is very safe & reduces hollow stem
- increases head weight and yields
- promotes even head development
- binding properties enhance cover spray effectiveness
- improves brassica quality
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- Australian made product
|
| APPLICATION |
| Brassicas - Apply 5
L/Ha commencing at head formation and repeat every 10-14
days up until harvest. |

| The Zinc Solution For Brassica
Crops |
| LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
| Zinc deficiency in
brassica's not only reduces plant growth but also increases
the likelihood of hollow stem. Low plant zinc reduces
the integrity (weakens) of cell membranes and as a result
there is a leakage of potassium and sugars from plant
roots. This is further accentuated if plant potassium,
calcium and boron levels are also low. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
|
- high plant availability through leaf or dripper
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated zinc is very safe
- enhances photosynthesis & early growth of plants
- reduced disease and hollow stem problems
- small particle size & binder enhances leaf penetration
- improves the colour & size of brassica's
- compatible with LIG-IRON & fungicides & insecticides
- low cost Australian made product
|
| APPLICATION |
| Brassica's - 1-2 sprays
@ 4 L/Ha commencing prior to head formation and again
14 days later. |
