| The Boron Solution For Banana
Crops |
| LIGNO - BORON |
| Boron deficiencies
occur on a wide variety of soils, however boron availability
reduces as pH increases. Bananas are sensitive to boron
deficiency especially when high levels of nitrogen are
applied or trees become moisture stressed. Boron is essential
for flowering, fruit set and the translocation of sugars.
Boron is required for calcium uptake and movement, and
calcium deficiencies can be significantly reduced by boron
application. Boron plays a similar role to calcium in
plant nutrition, which makes it essential for quality
factors such as skin strength, fruit firmness and storage
life. Because boron is required for root development and
plant strength, deficiencies often increase the likelihood
of fungal diseases and reduce the plant's tolerance to
various environmental stresses. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIGNO - BORON |
|
- high plant availability of boron
- rapid leaf & fruit uptake & plant utilization
- chelated boron ensures no burning or marking
- boron improves calcium uptake & movement
- better fruit firmness, sugar levels and storage life
- improves flowering & fruit set
- superior binding properties allows early application
- better fruit quality
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides

| The Calcium Solution For
Banana Crops |
| LIG-CALCIUM + BORON |
| Calcium deficiency
is a widespread problem in banana crops and significantly
reduces fruit quality. Moisture stress is the major cause
of calcium deficiency as it interrupts the root uptake
of calcium and leads to localized deficiencies in fruit.
Boron is required for the maintenance of transpiration
(water uptake) and therefore also calcium uptake, and
because of this fact, calcium sprays without boron are
often ineffective. Over-use of nitrogen fertilizers and
excessive plant vigour also compound calcium deficiencies.
Ccalcium and boron are also essential for plant strength
and therefore deficient plants are more likely to suffer
from fungal diseases and environmental stresses. Calcium
deficiencies are common in both acid and alkaline soils
even when exchangeable soil calcium levels are high. This
is largely due to the low mobility of soil calcium and
competition with other nutrients such as ammonium nitrogen,
potassium and magnesium |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG- CALCIUM + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of calcium & boron
- rapid leaf & fruit uptake & plant utilization
- chelated boron ensures no burning or marking
- inclusion of boron improves calcium uptake & fruit set
- better fruit firmness and storage life
- superior binding properties & canopy penetration
- Stronger plants and better fruit quality
- contains no chloride
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- Australian made

| The Iron Solution For Banana
Crops |
| LIG-IRON |
| Iron deficiencies are
common on most alkaline soils, especially those containing
free lime (calcareous) in the root zone. Hence iron deficiency
is often referred to as 'lime induced chlorosis'. Deficiencies
usually appear after heavy rainfall or where the root
zone is saturated for a prolonged period. High levels
of soil phosphate can also reduce iron availability. The
most significant effect of iron deficiency is a reduction
in the size of chloroplasts (chlorosis) and as a result,
lower levels of photosynthetic activity. Iron deficiency
can also inhibit root elongation and reduce the disease
resistance of plants. Due to the limited mobility of iron
within most plants, chlorotic deficiency symptoms usually
occur in the younger leaves first. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-IRON |
|
- high plant availability through leaf or soil
- rapid leaf uptake & utilization
- chelated iron is very safe
- improves photosynthesis, root development & growth
- compatible with LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE
- superior binding properties prevents leaching on sandy soils
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- cost effective Australian made product

| The Magnesium Solution For
Banana Crops |
| LIG-MAGNESIUM |
| Magnesium is essential
for photosynthesis, sugar production and skin colour in
bananas. Magnesium deficiency is most common on sandy
soils and its uptake is reduced by high levels of soil
ammonium, calcium and potassium. Deficiency symptoms appear
first in the older leaves as a bright yellow chlorosis
beginning at the top of the leaf and often in a 'V' shape.
Magnesium like potassium is also quickly absorbed and
translocated by the leaves and therefore foliar application
is very effective for correcting deficiencies. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-MAGNESIUM |
|
- high plant availability through leaf
- rapid uptake & plant utilization
- better skin colour
- maximizes plant development & sugar production
- improves quality & yields
- small particle size & binder improves canopy penetration
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- Australian made product

| The Potassium Solution For
Banana Crops |
| LIG-K + BORON |
| Potassium is required
for fruit filling (size & weight) and quality, and is
particularly important for banana production. Potassium
is involved in the production and transport of plant sugars
that increase the weight of fruit, while also offsetting
the detrimental effects of high plant nitrogen levels
on fruit quality. The highest demand for potassium is
from fruit set through to harvest. Potassium also promotes
more even ripening and enhances skin colour. Because potassium
is very mobile within the plant, foliar application of
potassium is very effective, especially in the later stages
of growth. Soil uptake of potassium is inefficient and
therefore deficiencies often occur in soils high in potash
and especially if calcium, magnesium and nitrogen levels
are also high. Deficiency symptoms appear in the older
leaves that may be a light green colour and have necrosis
of the entire leaf margin |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-K + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of potassium through leaf
- rapid leaf uptake & translocation to developing fruit
- chelated boron improves calcium uptake and sugar transport to fruit
- increases sugar levels, fruit size & weight
- promotes more even ripening
- small particle size & binder enhances canopy penetration
- improves yields & quality
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides

| The Zinc Solution For Banana
Crops |
| LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE
|
| Zinc deficiency is
most severe in bananas grown on alkaline soils, however
deficiencies on heavily leached acid soils are also common
especially where lime is applied on a regular basis. Zinc
is most important in the early stages of plant development
for photosynthesis, root and shoot growth and fruit set.
Deficiency symptoms are normally associated with 'little
leaf disease', poor fruit set and lower yields. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
|
- high plant availability through leaf or soil
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated zinc ensures no burning or marking
- enhances photosynthesis & early growth of plants
- superior binding properties allows for early application
- improves fruit set & yields
- compatible with LIG-IRON & fungicides & insecticides
- low cost Australian made product
