| The Calcium Solution For
Almond Crops |
| LIG-CALCIUM + BORON |
| The greatest difficulty
associated with calcium nutrition is its inherent immobility
in both soil and plant. Calcium deficiencies are common
even on calcareous soils, and often tissue analysis shows
good levels of calcium in the leaves, however fruit still
show signs of calcium deficiency. Moisture stress is the
most common cause of calcium deficiency and during hot
weather conditions when moisture stress is most likely,
large amounts of plant available soil nitrogen is often
released. This can lead to rapid and excessive vegetative
growth that requires significant amounts of calcium. Adequate
levels of plant boron are essential for fruit quality,
for two main reasons. Boron plays a vital role in the
lignification process that stabilizes cell walls. Secondly,
boron is absolutely critical for calcium uptake and movement.
|
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-CALCIUM + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of calcium & boron
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated boron ensures no burning
- inclusion of boron improves calcium uptake & movement
- superior binding properties
- better quality fruit
- contains no chloride & low levels of nitrogen
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- Australian made
|
| APPLICATION |
| Nut Crops - apply 2-4
sprays @ 5 L/Ha commencing with first cover spray after
flowering and repeat every 14 days. |

| The Iron Solution For Almond
Crops |
| LIG-IRON |
| Iron deficiencies are
common on most alkaline soils, especially those containing
free lime (calcareous) in the root zone. Hence iron deficiency
is often referred to as ‘lime induced chlorosis’. Deficiencies
usually appear after heavy rainfall or where the root
zone is saturated for a prolonged period. High levels
of soil phosphate can also reduce iron availability. The
most significant effect of iron deficiency is a reduction
in the size of chloroplasts (chlorosis) and as a result,
lower levels of photosynthetic activity. Iron deficiency
can also inhibit root elongation and reduce the disease
resistance of plants. Due to the limited mobility of iron
within most plants, chlorotic deficiency symptoms usually
occur in the younger leaves first. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-IRON |
|
- high plant availability through leaf or soil
- rapid leaf uptake & utilization
- chelated iron is very safe
- improves photosynthesis, root development & growth
- compatible with LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE
- superior binding properties prevents leaching on sandy soils
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- cost effective Australian made product
|
| APPLICATION |
| Almonds - 3 applications
@ 2 L/ha with early zinc sprays and later in the season
increase rate to 5 L/ha if deficiencies persist. For particularly
bad deficiencies use LIG-IRON as a trunk injection with
the appropriate syringe. |

| The Potassium Solution For
Almond Crops |
| LIG-K + BORON |
| Like nitrogen and phosphorous,
potassium helps regulate plant hormones and metabolism
and is essential for flower viability. Potassium is also
involved in sugar production and protein synthesis that
improves cell wall thickness and nut weight while reducing
the harmful effects of excessive plant nitrogen on fruit
quality. Potassium promotes more even ripening and nut
development. Due to the high soil mobility of potassium
it is beneficial to apply smaller more frequent applications
rather that one or two large applications, especially
on sandy soils where leaching is high. Boron enhances
quality by increasing the translocation of sugars to developing
fruit and improving the uptake and movement of calcium.
Foliar application of potassium is very efficient and
can be used strategically throughout the growing season
and is particularly beneficial closer to harvest when
the potassium requirements are highest and soil applications
of potassium are of little benefit |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-K + BORON |
|
- high plant availability of potassium through leaf
- rapid leaf uptake & translocation to developing fruit
- chelated boron is very safe & increases calcium uptake
- increases nut weight and yields
- promotes even fruit development
- binding properties enhance cover spray effectiveness
- improves nut quality
- compatible with fungicides & insecticides
- Australian made product
|
| APPLICATION |
| Almond Crops - Apply
5 L/Ha with first cover spray after flowering and repeat
2-3 times every four weeks. |

| The
Zinc Solution For Almond Crops |
| LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
| Traditionally, zinc
sulphate has been used to defoliate trees after harvest
and supply zinc for next seasons growth. However because
zinc sulphate is not readily translocated, leaves usually
fall off before any significant translocation of zinc
has occurred. Zinc is best applied via fertigation prior
to flowering and as a foliar spray before or after flowering
when new growth is present. On alkaline soils zinc must
be chelated otherwise it is basically ineffective. Zinc
promotes shoot growth and along with boron is essential
for fruit set. |
| THE ADVANTAGES OF
LIG-ZINC + MANGANESE |
|
- high plant availability through leaf or dripper
- rapid leaf uptake & plant utilization
- chelated zinc is very safe & will not burn or defoliate
- enhances photosynthesis & early growth of trees
- binding properties allow earlier application of zinc
- improves fruit set & yields
- compatible with LIG-IRON, fungicides & insecticides
- low cost Australian made product
|
| APPLICATION |
| Nut Trees - 2-3 sprays
@ 2 L/Ha commencing at flowering and again 14 days later.
Via fertigation apply 4 L/Ha three weeks prior to flowering.
Do not mix with urea. |
