About S.J.B. Ag-Nutri

S.J.B. AG-NUTRI is an Australian liquid fertilizer company formed by Steven Brooks in 1989. Having already worked as an Area Manager and Agronomist with a large distributor of agricultural products for 6 years prior, Steven saw the potential and demand for a quality range of liquid fertilizers formulated specifically for Australian agriculture. In conjunction with Geelong Agricultural Laboratories, Steven designed a range of chelated nutrient liquid fertilizers.

The liquid fertilizers or 'Prescribe Mixes' were first manufactured to suit soil and plant analysis conducted by clients in various areas. Once this market began to develop, our knowledge of the nutritional requirements of different crops in different growing areas throughout Australia broadened, and especially in the rapidly expanding horticultural areas. As Australian horticulture is growing at a rate of 25% per year, expansion is, in a lot of cases, into very deficient and sandy soils in arid semi-desert regions with high temperatures. Therefore traditional horticultural practices are no longer applicable in these areas. We needed products that would translocate quicker, bind to leaves under high volumes of irrigation, be available through fertigation even in adverse soil conditions, and bind to the soil so they would not leach.

The answer was low molecular weight lignin with altered ionic charges. This gave us a product with a high percentage of organic chelation that not only improved the plant availability of nutrients but also had superior binding properties. S.J.B. AG-NUTRI Pty. Ltd. now has a large range of registered products that are independently manufactured and quality controlled to S.J.B. AG-NUTRI specifications.
